Planting trays in Kenya

Planting trays are a great way to organize your garden. The only problem is that you have to buy coco peat or coco coir (a natural fiber from the husk of coconut seeds). But don’t worry: we’ll explain why these products are so important in our next section.

Trays are used for planting. They are used for organizing planting activities and they help you to organize your gardening activities in a more organized way.

Trays can be used for growing vegetables, fruits and flowers on the balcony or terrace of your house or in the garden.

You must know how many plants you need to plant before purchasing a tray because each kind has its own size and shape.

Coco peat

Coco peat is the top choice for planting trays, because it has several advantages over peat moss.

  • It’s more water-absorbent than coco coir (the other type of coco fiber), so it can hold more water and nutrients in your soil mix. This means that you won’t need to replenish the tray as often with new ingredients or fertilizers.
  • Coco peat also contains beneficial fungi that help improve drainage and aeration when mixed with sand or gravel at a ratio of 1 part coco fiber to 3 parts sand or gravel (1:3). This helps prevent clumping on top of your tray due to condensation from watering plants below them when they’re planted inside containers made from these materials instead of traditional pots made out wood scraps glued together into shapes like miniature barrels filled with dirt glued inside plastic wrap!

Coco peat is used in trays

You can use coco peat in your seedling trays. It’s made from coconuts, which are a good source of organic matter and water retention. Coco peat is sterile and free of weeds, diseases and pests; it will not impact your vegetable crops in any way.

Coco peat is used in many different applications including growing seedlings in trays, potting up young plants after transplanting them into containers or pots and making their own soil mixes for home gardens or commercial plantations such as greenhouses where space is limited but there must be no damage caused by weeds or pests when preparing soil for planting purposes

Purchasing trays

If you’re planning to grow your own plants, the first thing to consider is the material of your tray. You’ll want a sturdy tray that can be easily cleaned and doesn’t absorb water.

Planting trays should also have drainage holes so that excess water doesn’t pool on top of them during heavy rains (which can lead to mildew).

The size of the plant growing in each tray will determine how much space they need; if you’re planting a small amount of seedlings or cuttings, then 1/2-inch pots may be sufficient; if you have larger plants such as tomatoes and peppers that need more room between their roots and soil, consider using 3/4-inch pots instead.

Planting trays cost ksh 150 per piece.

Planting trays are helpful for organizing planting activities

Planting trays are a great way to organize planting activities. They can be reused throughout the season, and they’re easy to use, clean and store.

Trays come in many shapes, sizes and materials. Some are made of plastic while others are made from wood or metal. There are also trays that have been specifically designed for gardening purposes such as seed starting or transplanting plants into pots (planting trays).

Coco peat and peat moss

Coco peat is made from the husks of coconuts, which have been dried and steam-cooked. It’s a renewable resource, meaning that it can be collected from the wild or grown in plantations.

Peat moss is also made from sphagnum moss (a type of plant), but it doesn’t come from the wild like coco peat does; instead, it’s grown in factories where all aspects of its production are controlled by humans.

Plant the seedlings

To plant the seedlings, follow these steps:

  • Fill a planting tray with potting soil and place it in direct sunlight for two to three days. This will allow rooting of the plants so they can be transplanted into larger containers later on.
  • Remove all but one plant from its container and carefully plant it in the tray (if you have multiple trays, alternate which one you use each time).
  • Water thoroughly before applying a thin layer of compost around each seedling’s roots. The compost will help keep them moist while they grow roots and establish themselves in their new home.

Water and cover them

  • Watering is an important part of the process. As you plant, the soil will become moist and loose as it absorbs water from rainfall or irrigation. If this moisture content falls below a certain level, your seeds will die before they can germinate.
  • To ensure that your plants receive enough moisture, cover them with plastic mulch at least once per week during warm weather and once per day during cooler temperatures. The plastic keeps in heat during summer months while allowing air through for ventilation in winter months when it’s cold outside.
